“2010 will be a big year for CSCL"
Help celebrate our 60th Anniversary in 2010 and participate in a Biennial Exhibition. Start planning now and lets have a big year. Woodstock Branch will be hosting the 60th Annual and Ontario Crafts Council in Toronto will likely be the site of the exhibition to be held in the late summer. Details as they evolve will be found in future Newsletter issues.

“Express Yourself in a Leather Quilt Square"
At the close of business part of the 2009 General meeting, Madeleine Mitchell invited everyone to the 2010 Annual Weekend that will be held in Oxford County (details will follow in the newsletters). She also issued a challenge for all members to produce a leather “quilt” square for CSCL’s 60th Anniversary next year. It must be a 6” X 6” square, leather, at least 3-4oz weight, any design you wish. Express your wishes for the 60th or anything about CSCL.

“CSCL Source of Information"
The “Canadian Leathercraft” a quarterly newsletter is CSCL’s source of information about CSCL and it’s members. To ensure delivery either by email or mail make sure you are a member of CSCL. For a sample copy of the newsletter, contact the Editor, Madeleine Mitchell at madean@execulink.com

Woodstock Branch takes home the Weston Trophy

David McPherson, Chairman of the Council of Fellows then presented his own Branch from Woodstock with the 2009 Weston Trophy. Madeleine Mitchell, Wooodstock President accepted the trophy on behalf of herself (Picture Frame), Lauren (Teardrop Box) and David McPherson (“Elmira” Box), and Jan Malec (Molded Goat). David asked all Branches to look at entering next year’s competition.

Sandal Making with Peter Grove FCSCL

CSCL had a successful Sandal Making Workshop in March 2009 conducted by

Peter Grove and hosted by the Woodstock Branch. Everybody attending came away
