Toronto Branch Hosts 2009 CSCL Annual Weekend
Toronto Branch President, Barbara Chynoweth, welcomed about 40 members of CSCL to the Lindsay Inn, Lindsay, Ontario for the 59th CSCL Anniversary held during the first weekend of May. With discussions, demonstrations and workshops to help hone their leather crafting skills, CSCL members thoroughly enjoyed the “Seventies” theme of the weekend. In the spirit of the 70’s, headbands, peace signs, and even polyester jump suits were visible as CSCLers laughed, played and yes, even did some leather craft all weekend long.
During the Annual General Meeting, the first of numerous ribbons and Awards were presented. In the Weston Trophy competition, Woodstock Branch took home the prize. In presenting the trophy, Chairman of the Council of Fellows, David McPherson encouraged all 5 Branches to enter for the 2010 Weston Trophy.
The prestigious Salon and Craftsman Ribbons were handed out during the Annual Banquet. This year 7 Salon Ribbons went to 6 crafters and 40 Craftsman Ribbons went to 19 members. The 5 Special Awards were celebrated with cheques and certificates.
